Poodle Day 2013
This is an adventure of a different sort: Poodle Day 2013. A few hundred poodle owners, including ourselves with Busby and our friends with Lolli, all gathered in Carmel to hang out in the dog-friendly town for the weekend and take part in a little parade of poodles. As you can see from the photos, many of them had some pretty wild costumes. Lolli and Busby went as bride and groom, which got a few good laughs when we walked the little parade route. And yes, that’s me walking in a parade with two poodles and a 6-year-old girl. If you know me, you might realize that’s not a normal type of adventure for me!
You won’t see any pictures of Busby on the beach, because after a morning of mingling with hundreds of other poodles, he was tired and needed a nap instead of beach play. He did enjoy hanging out at the outdoor restaurants for lunch and dinner though.
Surf Kayaking–Sept 2013
Like the last two years, Paul and I took our sea kayaks to Neah Bay, WA and camped for a few nights while surfing the kayaks during the day. However, this year I had a GoPro camera to capture some videos. Unfortunately, on the last day of kayaking it got torn off my chest as I was getting washed around in the surf. This might have been because I was trying out someone’s wave ski. It was fun how it would so easily turn compared to a sea kayak, but I need to perfect my roll. Thankfully, our friend Lisl found my camera the next morning on the beach, so the videos were saved.
In addition to the photos above, there’s also three videos worth sharing:

And with Paul’s editing and a bit more video footage:
Preparing for the America’s Cup
I got a chance to see a few of the boats racing and I was surprised at how large they are, but also how nimble they seem when tacking
