Preparing for the America’s Cup
I got a chance to see a few of the boats racing and I was surprised at how large they are, but also how nimble they seem when tacking
Baseball might be my new sport
When I was in grade school, I was the pitcher for t-ball. Yes, I was that kid.
When in college, our softball team never won a game. Jeff might have cared, but I never noticed.
102 years later, my ball-hitting career has, um, …
While at Mistral Kitchen in Seattle tonight, the owner and a few others (specifically, it was myself, my friend Tanarin, a woman from Washington DC, 2 people from the kitchen and the bartender) decided to practice batting with some fruit. Actually, it was the owner who suggested we hit some lemons and limes, so I take no responsibility, other than that of an entertained batter.
Never one to skip out on bashing some fruit, I said “let’s go” and we proceeded to spray ourselves with citrus. Yes, if you hit a lemon with a softball bat, it sprays all over you. Thankfully, I like smelling like lemons. Tanarin captured these shots of me as I covered Westlake Ave. with the sweet smell of lemon.
By the way, this looks the same as my golf swing, but it doesn’t smell like grass when I swing.
My first Napa bicycle ride
With uncle Bob as my lead, we rode about 29 miles in 2 hours up and around the hills of Suisun and Napa counties. No action photos since I was hanging on to the road bike the entire time. It was exhausting and fun!
