Which Superhero Are You?

December 31, 2006 1 comment

You can take a little quiz at http://www.thesuperheroquiz.com/ to find out which superhero you are. We took it and got:

Brian: The Flash – Fast, athletic, and flirtatious.

Lorie: Spider Man – Intelligent, witty, a bit geeky, and has great power and responsibility.

Running Windows Vista

I took some time between Christmas and New Years to install the latest versions of Windows and Office: Windows Vista and Office 2007. So far, my laptop runs much better on Vista than it did on XP, and the new version of Office is great if you live in Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook like I do.

You can even download trial versions of Office 2007 if you want to try it at home.

Brian’s Christmas Bike Ride

December 25, 2006 1 comment

Since London is pretty quite on Christmas day, I took the opportunity to take a bike ride through the relatively quite streets of London. The best part was riding over the Tower Bridge – it’s massive, especially from a bicycle seat. The picture of me is from today (Christmas 2006) and the others are ones I found on the web.

P-Patch Near Bishops Park

Near the park where Milo plays is a community garden, when I have always called a p-patch, but I’m not sure what they’re called in the UK. This one is pretty big, as you can tell by the satalite photo.

Videos of London

I just created a little video of Picadilly Circus, then up Regent Street, ending at Oxford Circus. This is all in the heart of London and since it is the Friday before Christmas, there were a ton of people out shopping.

Paris at Night

We went to the Louvre last night and walked around a bit. The big glass pyramid, which is the entrance to the museum, looks pretty cool at night.

Walking in Paris

When walking to the office in Paris this morning, I took a detour to walk along the Seine river. I saw a couple of people letting their dogs run and play in the grass and saw the Grand Palais across the river. Nothing exciting, but hopefully we will see more exciting things tonight or tomorrow before heading back to London.

Low Tide on The Thames

While walking Milo on Sunday we saw the Thames at the lowest we had ever seen it. This means a variety of junk was visible, such as the bicycle pictured here. People live in the boats that are sitting in the mud, even as they sit there at a slight angle. The current in the river seemed pretty strong too, but the birds enjoying the temporary mud beaches didn’t seem to mind.

Citroën 2CV

Near our place is an old Citroën 2CV (I think that’s the model) that says "It’s only rock & roll, but I like it" on the back, and has the Rolling Stones lips on the doors.

Angelina and Daniel took some cool photos when they were here visiting. Here are a couple of Picadilly at night.
