Newspaper boxes. Yes, even in the tech city in Silicon Valley, there are newspapers to be had. These are all over the city, but most of the papers are free.

Multi-Language street signs. Not everywhere, but certainly in Japan Town and Chinatown.

Parrots. There are a few flocks of parrots that fly around the city. They’re bright green with red heads and a loud squawk.

Foxtails. These are designed to stick to poodles and serve absolutely no other purpose. They grow as a grassy weed and are all over the city.

Sunday evening cruise on a big catamaran. It was cold but sunny.

Steep hills. There a a few hills that are steep enough that the sidewalks have steps in them.

Little Free Libraries. These are scattered around the city in the different neighborhoods for people to share books with each other.

Skateboarding. There are quite a few skateboarders in the city. Some hang out and skateboard with their friends like these guys, but some just use it to get around the city, which explains why some of them have electric motors.

Flower cars. I certainly see more of them here than I did in Seattle and London.
