The Tel Aviv Beach
Today is the 2nd day of Independence “Day” in Israel, and just like in the US (July 4), people hit the beach, hang out, and BBQ. We’re staying near the beach in the Jaffa neighborhood in Tel Aviv. And yes, the beach and park were crowded today!
Old Jerusalem
We saw the sights in Jerusalem inside and outside of the old city. See if you can recognize the spots where 3 religions, and many variations, all mix together. Notice the tattoo place that has been in business since 1300!
Walking around Tel Aviv
Yes, Tel Aviv is a normal busy city, but with street signs in Hebrew and Arabic. This as the first time I had ever seen chips and cereal in Hebrew, or even knew that whiskey is made here or that McDonald’s delivers. No, we didn’t go to McDonald’s, but we did sample the whiskey.
Hello Copenhagen
I walked around a waterfront park on the south side of Copenhagen and learned that the wooden structure is for swimming, and there were a couple of people sitting on benches out there getting ready for a very cold morning swim.
Since this is a short trip, the only meal here was dinner with coworkers at a BBQ place, with lots of good beer. I had the Mac & Cheese.
Hello Madrid
A few photos when I can squeeze in a morning and evening walk during the daylight. Very few people are out at 7:30am, but everyone is out at 7:30pm on their way TO dinner. Yes, Spain eats later than most people in the US. The overhead shots are from a rooftop bar I found, but the wind was too cold to hang out for a drink.
