The Downhome Singers: Best Free Show In Town
Here’s something unique that happens every Autumn and Winter, when my parents are in Longview, WA: My dad plays in a band called the Downhome Singers. That’s him on the right-hand side of the photo. They play for free at retirement homes in Longview, but this photo is from last year when they played at the Columbia Theater, also for free. They played “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot”.
I have yet to see them play, but I did help break down their equipment and carry it to their cars once. I guess that means that I can add roadie for my dad’s band to my list of experiences, which I consider pretty cool. I worked for free too.
Poodle & Pit
Piper’s new best friend is Z, the nicest dog I’ve ever met. She’s a friend’s rescued pit.
