I ran Piper along the Far East side of Amsterdam, where ships cruise past. The red dot is where these photos are from.
Beach Day
We walked along the beach until we turned up into the dunes for a while. The North Sea looked a little rough today, but for January, it was a pretty nice day.
Deer in the dunes
We had a cold but dry hike around the dunes near the North Sea today. The deer were out in full and allowed us to get pretty close this time.
Busby’s Favorite Part of Christmas
In Amsterdam, the city sets up signs on street corners or people to leave their Christmas trees. Busby likes to pee on all I them.
The Lights of Sinterklaas and Christmas in Amsterdam
Sinterklaas is a Dutch thing; basically a person symbolising a holiday on Dec 5&6 that goes by the same name. Before that holiday starts, the canals get some light artwork as part of the Amsterdam Light Festival. At the same time, some Christmas lights start going up, although I’ve been told that most Dutch people won’t put up a Christmas tree or decorations until after the Sinterklaas day of December 6.
So, Piper and I have captured a variety of lights in Amsterdam seen in early December.
Still no buffalo
This is the hike we’re we should run across buffaloes, but we still haven’t seen any.

Dog fun at Duinlandschap Zandvoort
There is an off leash dog area in the sand dunes at the south end of Zandvoort called Duinlandschap Zandvoort. This was our first time there and the dogs loved it.
