Fall Colors & An Elephant

Many of the trees have already lost their leaves, but a few are still displaying some great colors. That includes the ones near the elephants at the Amsterdam zoo (called Artis).

Rained Out Hike

Near the ocean today, we had plans to watch a full moon rise tonight. It seemed appropriate for Halloween and the weather was supposed to be clear. So we hiked into the sand dunes, started unpacking our chairs to sit and watch the moon, when it started raining.

We hiked back to the parking area and sat under cover to enjoy our evening picnic. We had the entire place to ourselves! It was a unique Halloween.
